Juvenile Court

The Juvenile Court is part of the Magistrate's Court and will sit to consider some cases involving juveniles (under the age of 18) who are charged with criminal offences.

The Juvenile Court is not open to the public and only those directly involved in the case will normally attend the Court sitting.

Not all cases involving juveniles who are charged with criminal offences will be considered by the Magistrate's Court. A final decision on whether a case will be referred to the Magistrate's Court will rest with His Majesty's Procureur, who may decide that it would be more appropriate for the matter to be considered by the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal.
