Bonds

A bond is a registered charges against an individual and any real property they own in Guernsey.

The Greffe hold records of bonds from 1800.

Usually, a bond is taken when someone is purchasing a property and the debtor to the bond appears before the Jurats with a representative of the creditor in Contracts Court on a Tuesday or Thursday morning.

The bond document must be drawn up by an Advocate.
